1. What part of the Model YL does this protect?
It protects the lower rear rocker panel / side skirt area near the rear wheels, one of the areas most exposed to road debris and scrapes.
2. Is this the same as a mud flap?
No.
Traditional mud flaps hang behind the wheel. These guards sit closer to the rocker panel and are designed primarily to protect the lower side skirt area while maintaining a cleaner factory look.
3. Will it reduce ground clearance?
Very little.
The guards use a low-profile design that stays close to the factory underside, so the vehicle's ground clearance remains virtually unchanged.
4. Do I need to drill holes?
No.
The guards install using the vehicle's existing mounting points.
5. Will they look bulky from the side?
No.
